We are a unique generation that has witnessed many overnight success stories. How we marvel at the ‘Next Great’. What I want to know: do you still have a dream you want to fulfill? What is holding you back from grabbing your piece of the American Pie?

Last month I wrote on success, and by far it was my least viewed article to date. Was I disappointed? No, let me explain why. Sometimes it is hard to face the man in the mirror. To face the things that have held us back for so long. We hear the voices of old classmates that make fun, or people that have talked us down so much, we do not want to try to reach up.

However, to change the course of your future requires determination. You’ll have to make an adjustment to alter the footprint of your children’s destiny. Today, I want to encourage you to fight for your dreams. Dreams require that you drive toward a goal and stick to it! Day in, and day out you have to decide to take small steps to achieve the FIRST milestone – a prototype to work from.

As you move forward be careful, because dream killers are still on the loose. You know the ones, the people that come along to distract you from your goals. They could be a friend, a relationship, a family member, a situation, or it could even be you. But, I want you to promise yourself that you will not allow anything to stop you.

“I encourage you to face your future, and be confident that you can make your dreams come alive!”

Recently, I sat down for lunch with a marvelous group of women and we shared on our potential with one another. Of the ladies present: one is destined to be a television talk show Phenom, the other has the greatest potential to be a hair/body products guru, another one is fated to be a great author, one a witty playwright, and the last an incredible inventor.

But will we ever see the Next Great You? We will not if you decide to yield to inner fears, or past behaviors, or thoughts of quitting. So I ask you to Plan, Research, and do the Work it takes to propel yourself closer to fulfilling your heart’s desire. No one else can be YOU! No one else can put your product on the market. Get on internet and research what it would take for you to COMPLETE the first sample. Do not price items, just find out how the process works in the beginning– then look at cost.

Take advantage of the buyers’ market and get your project/service out there for us to purchase. Here is a simple outline for a person wanting to create a new line of hair products:

  1. Define the project,
    1. Create a leave in conditioner
  2. List needed ingredients
  3. Perfect the recipe
    1. Use yourself as the first tester or your product
  4. Research cost of each individual ingredients
    1. Price ingredients
    2. Price containers (in which to sell product)
    3. Total the cost to of producing one (1) container of product
  5. Repeat these steps to create the second, third, fourth, etc…

If you want to be the Next Great anything, you will have to start at step one – BEGIN!!!  Get up, get motivated, start today, and remember to Increase YoUR Woman!
